postheadericon Is Ambien + Weed a bad or good combination?

I just smoked around half a bowl of weed and im pretty high right now. I have half a pill of ambien, and im pretty tired so would it be ok if I took it? Would there be adverse or dangerous effects? If so what are they, and if not does it ruin the weed high, or just what will it do? Thanks in advance.

Answer:

The Ambien will increase the drowsiness you are already experience, and the weed will increase the effects of the Ambien-excessive sedation, in my opinion. Its not going to get you “higher”, if that’s what you are going for-your just going to pass out!

postheadericon Any one out there taking Ambien for Insomnia?

If you are taking it nightly and for a long time do you have any bad side effects?

Answer:

Some of the people I’ve talked to who took it said that they had hallucinations. That’s about the worst side effect I’ve been told about. Others say they sometimes wake up after 7 to 8 hours of sleep still feeling groggy. Most of the users say they rested better with the medicine. Each person’s body reacts differently with different drugs.

postheadericon how many ambien should i take to make sure its a safe dose ?

how many ambien should i take to make sure its a safe dose ? but will for sure knock me out so ill be safe and asleep

Answer:

Whatever it says on your prescription is what the doctor feels is the best dose for you. If it’s not working, you need to go back to your doctor and have them adjust the dose.

If you don’t have a prescription and you managed to get those pills from somewhere else, you have no business taking it. Those drugs are dangerous when used inappropriately, and you need to be monitored by a doctor while on them.

postheadericon Can taking 2 10 mg of Ambien hurt you?

I have super bad insomina and the only way I can get sleep is by taking 2 10mg of Ambien. I am prescribed to take only one but that doesn’t help. If I only take one I am still awake at 2 am. Will taking 20 mg a night hurt me?

Answer:

Perhaps just asking for the higher dose of 12.5 will be enough to make the difference. I would see your Dr and talk to him/her about it and what is going on. I would think doubling your dose without Dr approval can be harmful. On the Ambien website it said the dose of 12.5 should not be exceeded. I have pasted a section of info off the site for you. There is an abundance of info on Ambien..so maybe tonight if you are restless look into it and inform yourself on what is going into your body and ways you can correct your sleep issues. I feel bad for you, sleep is so very important to your health..good luck and I wish you sweet dreams.

If your healthcare professional thinks Ambien is right for you, he or she will prescribe either a 6.25 mg or 12.5 mg dose. For many adults taking Ambien, the 12.5 mg dose is initially recommended. Once you have used Ambien for a while, your healthcare professional may adjust your prescription to a different dosage. The total Ambien dose should not exceed 12.5 mg per day.

Although Ambien can be taken for as long as your prescriber recommends, each person is unique—as are each person’s sleep problems. For some people, taking Ambien every night is indicated by their healthcare professional and can be beneficial. For others, occasional use may be their healthcare professional’s recommended solution. If you are unsure how often you should take Ambien or any sleep medication, it is important that you speak to your healthcare professional.

postheadericon How many Ambien can you take before you overdose?

Answer:

A review medical publication found that long term use of zolpidem is associated with drug tolerance, drug dependence, rebound insomnia and CNS related adverse effects. It was recommended that zolpidem be used for short periods of time using the lowest effective dose. Non-pharmacological treatment options however, were found to have sustained improvements in sleep quality. Animal studies of the tolerance inducing properties have shown that in rodents zolpidem has less tolerance producing potential than benzodiazepines but in primates the tolerance producing potential of zolpidem was the same as that of benzodiazepines.Tolerance can develop in some people to the effects of zolpidem in just a few weeks. Abrupt withdrawal of zolpidem may cause delirium, seizures or other severe effects, especially if used for prolonged periods and at high dosages. When drug tolerance and physical dependence to zolpidem has developed, treatment usually entails a gradual dose reduction over a period of months in order to minimise withdrawal symptoms which can resemble those seen during benzodiazepine withdrawal. Failing that, an alternative method which may be necessary for some patients is a switch to a benzodiazepine equivalent dose of a longer acting benzodiazepine drug such as diazepam or chlordiazepoxide followed by a gradual reduction in dosage of the long acting benzodiazepine. Sometimes for difficult to treat patients an inpatient flumazenil rapid detoxification program can be used to detox from a zolpidem drug dependence or addiction. However, it should be noted that this treatment approach closely parallels that of the highly controversial rapid opiate detoxification therapy, which critics claim lacks long-term efficacy and can actually be detrimental to a patient’s long-term recovery. Additionally, there have been many questions raised about the ethics as well as safety of rapid detox following a number of deaths resulting from the procedure.

Alcohol has cross tolerance with GABAa receptor positive modulators such as the benzodiazepines and the nonbenzodiazepine drugs. For this reason alcoholics or recovering alcoholics may be at increased risk of physical dependency on zolpidem. Also, alcoholics and drug abusers may be at increased risk of abusing and or becoming psychologically dependent on zolpidem. Zolpidem should be avoided in those with a history of Alcoholism, drug misuse, or in those with history of physical dependency or psychological dependency on sedative-hypnotic drugs.

postheadericon A little anxious about stating ambien?

I’ve heard reports of people hallucinating while taking ambien. I already have minor hallucinations and would not be too thrilled if I starting seeing stuff when I take it for the first time tomorrow night. My prescription guide I got from my pharmacist does not mention hallucinations but I was hoping to get info from people on it. Please, no drugs stories about how you were “totally tripping.” Thank you

Answer:

Ambien can cause hallucinations in some individuals, but these “hallucinations” aren’t like typical hallucinations caused by psychological disorders.

The hallucinations could be considered more visual “distortions” rather than actual hallucinations.

If you care for the technical information, zolpidem (ambien) is theorized to indirectly activate 5-HT2a receptors in the brain (the same receptors that psychedelics such as LSD/acid and psilocibinic mushrooms are agonists of).
Hence, ambien’s reported recreational effects among recreational drug users.

Hallucinations are typically only experienced in doses higher than 10mg, and instant release ambien is reported as having more instances of hallucinations than the controlled release formulation.

Other effects include temporary amnesia (loss of memory and “black out”), sedation, physical and mental intoxication, and in some cases euphoria (especially in individuals who are seeking the alleged psychedelic effects).

In doses higher than 20mg, the hallucinogenic effects begin to lessen and the intoxicating/amnesic effects begin to become stronger and more apparent.
