I was watching tv the other day and i saw an Ambien CR commercial, and it was saying all of these really weird side effects it had(even death) just to help you go to sleep.

Then i was thinking that weed can help you go to sleep and it has almost no negative side effects that ambien cr has. So why is ambien legal and weed not?

I have severe insomnia and ambience cr on its on does nothing. Lunesta does not work either, just makes me feel like crap.

mixing ambien with anything can be dangerous, I believe it interacts with other meds. Im pretty sure you are ok with the other 2 but call a dr to be safe

I am doing a research paper on ambien and fatal affects of it. Does anybody know how many tabs it takes for it to be fatal? how many cases there have been, stuff like that? what if it is combined with alcohol…. thanks for the help.

All you have to do is gogle it and you will see that yes it is very dangerous if you take too much. It all depends on the height and weight of the person and their tolerance level. Also it can be bad if combined with alcohol that is why they tell you on the prescription not to drink alcohol while taking it. This is a very very easy research paper because there is a ton of stuff on the internet about it all you have to do is look.

I have friends that take either 20 or 30 mg at a time, and force themselves to stay awake.
What is the point in doing this? i know it gets you ‘high’, but what would happen?
hallucinations, euphoria? is this dangerous?

Why would you even want to put yoursef through that? Would you recommend it to your child if you had one?Would you tell a child it is safe ? Don’t make a decision to blunt all your emotions by running away from them with drugs and alcohol. Choose a life lived fully awake.

I know someone who takes all three. I am sure what all he combines and when. I am hoping he realizes the dangers of these drugs soon.

Xanax is very addictive. And I can tell you from experience that it really isn’t even fun to be on, so if someone is taking it often, it probably isn’t for a good time as much as it is for there body’s NEED for it.

Xanax + alcohol = very dangerous. Xanax has a chemical reaction with alcohol, and if you mix them, you can overdose EASY. I couldn’t really tell you how it reacts with vicadin or ambien…

Longterm or excessive Xanax use is devastating to the brain. Xanax is prescribed to people with anxiety issues. The whole point of the drug is to increase a natural chemical found in the brain that calms the person.

So, when you take too much of the drug, you get too much of this chemical in your brain, and it makes you EXTREMELY relaxed, constantly. That doesn’t sound bad does it? It makes you incapable of caring. It makes you so “relaxed” that you don’t mind the drool hanging off of your face. It makes you retarded.

I really want to know Say for an example someone takes 1mg of ativan and then 10 mg of ambien generic Good or bad?Thanks.
I want to know because i am on these medications and it would be nice to have some facts i doubt i’ll get a straight forward answer.

as the other gentleman said there is no harm in using both together both belong to the same class benzodiazepines , so there is added effect from both , and the side effects would be mainly increased drowsiness or sleepiness and it might affect your ability or judgment in case of driving or operating machinery and mixing with alcohol would even increase that side effect, if there was a good reason behind you being prescribed both there is no harm but as there is a tendency of dependence of these medications i recommend you talk to your doctor about how long you should be on them …

I want to sleep for about 16 hours. Is taking two ok?

You could act all kind of crazy and do a lot of things you won’t remember. In my opinion, Ambien can be a very dangerous drug. It also reacts adversly with at lot of over the counter medications. A friend of mine often made a habit of taking more of it than she was suppose to. She drove thru her garage door THREE times. One night she drove somewhere. The next morning she went outside, and she had wrecked her car. She had no idea she had even went anywhere. She would eat everything in the house everynight. She said she would wake up in the morning and the trash can would be full of food wrapers.

I use to take Ambien. I took it one night with some cold medicine. I had horrific halucinations. I will never take it again.

My friend wants some of my Ambien CR. If he got sick or died, will I face any charges?

its illegal to give out your prescription meds, Ambien is a very dangerous drug especially mixed with alcohol, if your going to give your friend Ambien only give him one and make sure he doesn’t drink with it, also make sure he lies down in bed minutes after taking the pill, if someone takes ambien and stays up they can act very odd, driving, drinking using the phone etc. while on ambien and not remembering doing it or being in control of ones actions is common and can lead to all kinds of problems

I just got out of the ER and the doctor prescribed Vicodin and Ambien. I forgot to ask him how I take them while I was there, so is it okay to take both at once? What side effects should I expect?
I also took another prescription for nausea called promethazine.

They are fine if taken as prescribed. Both are depressants, and both will make you drowsy (especially the Ambien), but it is not dangerous to take the two together as prescribed at bedtime. Ambien works VERY quickly, only take it right as you are going to bed.

I wouldn’t take more than what is prescribed though if you are taking them together.

I took ambien last night and amitripyline the night before that, will I be fine? I heard both drugs are not good interacting with each other. I did not take them both at once. I took the amitriptyline the night before last, and then i took ambien the night after that. That is a far enough gap for taking both medicines for it to be safe right?

bad, bad idea

even though ambien is not an antidepressant both have similar effects and can dangerous and unpredictable side effects

whos prescribing these for you? i would suggest you go back to your doctor to discuss the options

personally, i think ambien is a terrible drug, but the amitryptaline can be worse for some patients, it depends on the person, sorry i cant give you better advice than that, please see your physician, they can advise you better, in the meantime, dont take both of these drugs, its a very bad idea
