postheadericon What does it feel like taking Ambien when you don’t need it?

wassup everyone. i cant smoke weed anymore cuz of some wak drug test so i was wondering does ambien get u high? oo and yeah i know im a despicable little prick who cant deal with his problems so no need to say it. it would help if it was personal experience, i dont need some scientific answers. thanks for all the help!!!!

I’ve never taken ambian but I do take other really good sleep aids and they make you sleep better. They don’t get you high, just tired.

postheadericon How much Ambien is too much?

Ambien 10 mg for a 135 pound female. How much is too much that you could overdose? I have trouble sleeping and I am currently on Ambien.
No…I do not want to kill myself…I just want to know how much is the limit before you are in serious danger? Thanks

Answer:

I think it is the normal dosage because that is the dose that I am on, and I weigh about 200 lbs. (don’t tell anyone LOL). I was told if you have problems while sleeping, like sleep walking or doing things other than sleeping, then you are taking too much. But you need to check it out with the doctor that prescribed it for you since it is a prescription medication.

postheadericon What are the dangers of ambien?

1. when taken normally
2. when taken at a higher dosage that perscribed
3. when snorted

Answer:

Your questions indicate a willingness to abuse Ambien. There IS a possibility of addiction at higher dosages than prescribed. And snorting is just plain stupid.

When taken normally (5 mg a night or less), there are some who have problems but most are OK. Stop after a month or two, and it takes a week to get back to normal sleep. You MUST be able to get at least 7 hours sleep–do not take otherwise.

There are examples of sleep-=walking. Check out www.askapatient.com for some scary stories.

If you have insomnia, you might also have sleep apnea–if you have insurance get a sleep test.

postheadericon Is it too risky to try Ambien?

I need something for sleep and got the prescription for it today. I have done a bit of research and found that there is a high occurrence of sleepwalking, sleep eating, and doing all kinds of crazy stuff when you are in a half-conscious state.

I am taking Restoril now and it is not working for me, so I need something else.

Anyone else taking Ambien and not having problems?

Answer:

its different for everyone.
but i do have a few stories about it.
my dad takes them..
and one time i went downstairs at like 2 in the morning and my dad was buck naked trying to fry peanut butter in a skillet.
also, almost everynight he takes it,i’ll go downstairs the next day and there will be food everywhere, the butter had claw marks in it.the tv was turned around and there were puzzle peices everywher.
he also writes checks, but just doodles pictures in them ha and texts his fiance random stuff that makes no sense.
so be careful.get someone to hide your phone and car keys, you’ll be aight.
my dad said the next day “thats the best nights sleep iv ever had!i feel so rested” and yet he had been doing all the above all night.

postheadericon Is anyone taking ambien, or taken it in the past?

How would you rate how it works on a 1 to 10? How long have you been taking it or taken it in the past? I have terrible trouble sleeping and I dont want to become hooked on ambien but it works for me.

Answer:

Definately 10. I had been prescribed trazedone (an antidepressant which has a side effect of tiredness) to try to help my insomnia. I woke up with a “sleep hangover” which would last until noon. With Ambien, I have no problems sleeping, and awake with no aftereffects. The jury is still out as to the dependency on the drug. All the descriptions from the momographs for sleeping pills say they all have the potential to be habit forming. Just remeber if you do stop, you might get rebound amnesia for a few days.

Good Luck

postheadericon Can you take Ambien with Prozac and Lamictal?

I know you can take it with either, I’m just wondering if there could be weird side effects from mixing them -all- together.

Answer:

Here is an awesome drug interactions site. I have used it for years. First click on “check interactions” at the top and then just click on all the drugs you take at once, and it will tell you all about any possible problems or dangers. It’s a very useful site.

I would appreciate any suggestions as to alternative treatments. Is there anything natural that has helped you with sleep problems? What herbs or supplements can you recommend. I don’t like being on these pills.
